I started reviewing bags over 10 years ago and it was because I absolutely loved them. Not always designer bags, sometimes one off, unique pieces crafted from a local artisan. My bag collection grew with luxury designer bags, one off pieces and replica designer bags and I found myself starting to write blogs, just like this one you are reading today.
As my collection grew I began to delve into the designer bag world even more, I was always fascinated by who was wearing which designer and how many times that celebrity would be seen with the same bag. As technology has moved on it’s even easier nowadays to follow trends and see what our favorite celebs are doing, gosh they even tell us what they are doing and wearing with Facebook and twitter, so following them is even easier now.
What has been fascinating to watch over this time is which designer brands stayed trendy and which styles of bags never seemed to wane on the popularity front. But the feeling I really love is when I see a bag and just know it’s going to be a hit. The past few blogs I’ve written about Hermes and Louis Vuitton, but today I wanted to concentrate on a bag from Chloe.
I feel that Chloe is often overlooked, however it is a luxury brand that has now been around for several years. Chloe is well and truly established yet I never really feel the hype that other brands get translates through to Chloe.
So my latest purchase is the Chloé Hudson Small Shoulder Bag. In some ways it reminds me of another old favorite of mine, the Dior Saddle Bag. Yet it is a completely different style. It has an almost hipster vibe about it, although I can’t quite decide it that is down to the material used or the shape and style. Perhaps the leather braiding gives it that feel. Despite my uncertainties of what makes me love this bag, the simple fact is I do.
My suede version in deep purple was exclusive to Neiman Marcus. Yet I nearly purchased the Chloe Hudson Small Shoulder Bag in the caramel leather version for $500 less. Some of you might wonder how I managed to get it for such a low price.
Well, I should confess I did not bribe the salesgirl at Neiman Marcus to get an impressive discount: I simply did not buy it from Neiman Marcus. Now you sure want to know how I got my hands on it… Quite simple actually, it stands in one word: replica. I got myself a true seven star mirror image replica of the Chloe Hudson. No one suspected the trick and it makes me feel so exclusive…
